Benign Brenner tumour of the ovary: CT and MRI features

•Benign Brenner tumour of the ovary is mostly incidentally discovered. •It frequently associated with mucinous cystadenoma on same ovary. usually presents as a unilateral fibrous often containing calcifications. AIM To evaluate computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features benign tumours (BBT) MATERIAL AND METHODS This was retrospective two-centre study comprising 35 female patients definitive diagnosis BBT at histology in whom CT and/or MRI examinations had been performed. Two experienced radiologists reviewed 39 ovarian retrospectively consensus reading. The morphological appearance size each were recorded. presence or absence calcifications within solid portion noted CT. characteristics included qualitative assessment signal intensity diffusion sequence contrast enhancement, compared to that myometrium. RESULTS images available for 27 28 lesions, respectively. Sixteen both examinations. 89% patients, 49% lesions 51% mixed. Calcifications depicted 70.4% lesions. When present, cystic multilocular 85% cases corresponded lesion 74% cases. Enhancement inferior equal myometrium high b-values deemed low moderate 93% CONCLUSION combined findings mass punctate cyst suggest BBT.
